After classical studies at the School of Applied Arts in Lyon, Ophelie Vaganay joined a textile design workshop and then turned definitively towards painting. She first worked in watercolor and gouache, then began painting in oil. At the same time, her numerous work sessions based on living models allow her to fully release her brushstroke.

Oil is a technique she has loved and perfected for many years. From now on, like Nicolas de Stael, Ophelie Vaganay paints with a knife, which allows her to work the material, sculpt the silky paste of the oil painting and create magnificent flat colors, a frank and warm color, in a figurative, stylized and graphic style.
