In the wake of the global coronavirus pandemic museums have more than stepped up to do their part. That includes museums offering virtual tours, and now, it also includes the Metropolitan Opera, too.

The Metropolitan Opera announced it will stream encore performances of some of its most famed shows and it will all be completely free.

The “Nightly Met Opera Streams” will begin at 6:30 p.m.(New York time) each night on the Met's homepage and will remain available for 20 hours. The performance will also be available on the Met Opera’s On-Demand apps.

The Met's series of free opera streams continues with Tchaikovsky's passionate Euege Onegin. The great Renée Fleming stars as Tatiana, who falls in love with the worldly Onegin, sung with devastating charisma by Dmitri Hvorostovsky. Valery Gergiev conducts. This performance will be available until 6:30p.m. Monday March 23.
